Others prefer different learning styles in different circumstances. There is no right or wrong answer to which learning style is best for you – or mix of learning styles. However, by discovering and better understanding your own learning styles, you can employ techniques that will improve the rate and quality of your learning.
This is a fun filled and totally immersed workshop designed to enhance the learning ability of high school and college students by using different techniques like mind-mapping, note-taking and speed reading.
During the hands-on workshop students will focus on: first learning and then applying these techniques through many classroom activities. To complement these techniques students will also learn about time-management, overcoming procrastination and how to be keep themselves motivated during lectures and exams. Finally, at the end of each day there will be a quiz to test the learners understanding of the day’s topic.
1. Study Skills:
Mind-mapping Mind mapping is a highly effective way of getting information in and out of your brain. Mind mapping is a creative and logical means of note-taking and note-making that literally “maps out” your ideas.
All Mind Maps have some things in common. They have a natural organizational structure that radiates from the center and use lines, symbols, words, color and images according to simple, brain-friendly concepts. Mind mapping converts a long list of monotonous information into a colorful, memorable and highly organized diagram that works in line with your brain’s natural way of doing things. The Mind Map is the external mirror of your own radiant or natural thinking facilitated by a powerful graphic process, which provides the universal key to unlock the dynamic potential of the brain.
The five essential characteristics of Mind Mapping:
• The main idea, subject or focus is crystallized in a central image.
• The main themes radiate from the central image as ‘branches’.
• The branches comprise a key image or key word drawn or printed on its associated line.
• Topics of lesser importance are represented as ‘twigs’ of the relevant branch.
• The branches form a connected nodal structure.
2. Effective Note-taking techniques for academic success
A frequent complaint of students about lectures is that they do not know how to identify the important information. Because they cannot determine what is important, they attempt to write everything the teacher says.
Our workshops teach you to read or skim the text prior to attending the lecture,
Identify unfamiliar terms and concepts.
Develop and use standard symbols and abbreviations
Techniques to use indentations and distinguish between major and minor points.
3. Speed-reading anyone can develop Super-Learning skills
This workshop will be about improving your ability to learn new skills or information quickly and effectively. We go far beyond the kinds of “speed-reading” (or glorified skimming) you may have been exposed to, diving into the actual cognitive and neurological factors that make learning easier and more successful. We also give you advanced memory techniques to grapple with the huge loads of information you’ll be able to process. This can help a learner to be effective in terms of time management on high-stake test taking like: IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, GMAT, LSAT, GRE, SAT etc.
1. Time Management
Are you usually punctual or late? Do you finish things within the time you stipulate? Do you hand in your reports/work on time? Are you able to accomplish what you want to do before deadlines? Are you a good time manager?

Many of us find ourselves in motivational slumps that we have to work to get out of. Sometimes it’s like a continuous cycle where we are motivated for a period of time, fall out and then have to build things back up again..Does this sound like you?
Our workshops would help identify several comfortable working/study environments, Tame the time monsters, motivate you to take planned and earned breaks, Connect with a support system, and help you Talk positively to yourself.
3. Overcoming Procrastination
Procrastination is not a matter, solely, of having poor time management skills, either, but rather can be traced to underlying and more complex psychological reasons. These dynamics are often made worse where students are constantly being evaluated, and especially when in college where the pressure for grades is high and a lot can be riding on students’ performance. In reality, procrastination is often a self-protection strategy for students.
Our Workshops would help you with these skills to overcome procrastination through Time Management Techniques, Motivation: Finding Productive Reasons for Engaging in Tasks, awareness, goal setting,
Un-schedule to break the myth
